According to the “South China Morning Post” newspaper, Wang Di reiterated Beijing’s position on the war and said that “there is an urgent need for a ceasefire” in a meeting with Ali Bagheri, the political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the heads of Iran’s regional departments. This is the first visit by an official from Beijing to Iran since the war started last month.
