According to the correspondent of Fars news agency, Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed a delegation in line with the continuation of the diplomatic efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the Palestinian issue and especially the follow-up of the issue of sending humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. He had traveled to Geneva in order to meet and talk with some officials of the United Nations and the International Red Cross. After meeting with a number of officials of these organizations, he left Geneva for Tehran.
Reza Najafi, Vice President of Legal and International Affairs, Nasser Kanani, Spokesperson, Marzieh Afkham, Director General of Women and Human Rights Affairs, and Esmail Baqaei Hamaneh, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied Amir Abdullahian on this trip. During this trip, he met with Martin Griffiths, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Aid, Volker Türk, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Miriana Spoliarik Iger, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and discussed the situation in Gaza. /p>
He was also the host of “Geir Pedersen”, the special representative of the UN Secretary General for Syrian affairs, at the office of Iran’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
Before this, in line with efforts to stop the Zionist crimes in Gaza and the need to send humanitarian aid as soon as possible, he held consultations by phone with some colleagues and influential international officials. In this regard, he wrote letters to some officials, including two letters to the Secretary General of the United Nations, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, etc., and he also made trips to several countries in the region.
