According to Fars news agency reporter in Tashkent, “Tenzila Narbayeva” Speaker of the Senate of Uzbekistan and “Natalia Kuchanova” Speaker of the Council of the National Assembly of Belarus met in the city of “Bishkek” and discussed how to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation. .
In this meeting, it was noted that due to the joint efforts of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Belarus, bilateral relations will develop in an atmosphere of mutual trust and friendship.
Commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries will develop more than before. In recent years, trade exchanges have grown 5 times and exceeded the level of 500 million dollars. All the agreements reached at the highest level were emphasized.
In the framework of the negotiations between the officials of the two countries, special attention was paid to the effective continuation of inter-parliamentary talks between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
The parties agreed on reaching a new level of cooperation in the field of territorial development, expanding the rights and facilities of women, and strengthening business relations between them.
It was also noted. that all efforts should be made to provide effective parliamentary control for the implementation of high-level agreements between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope that constructive cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus should expand further based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests.
Uzbekistan-Belarus trade exchange in 2022 has reached the level of more than 530 million dollars. which is 71% more than in 2021.
Currently, 181 companies with Belarusian investment, including 77 joint companies and 104 companies with 100% capital of Belarusian investors, are operating in Uzbekistan. .
Also, more than 100 companies with the investment of Uzbek investors operate in Belarus.
According to the report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Belarus’s independence It recognized the country on December 27, 1991, and diplomatic relations were established between the two countries on January 21, 1993.
