According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, the spokesperson of the US State Department claimed in a gathering of reporters on Tuesday that the agreement to release the prisoners in Gaza is close, but nothing has been finalized yet.
Matthew Miller, the spokesman of the US State Department, said: “The agreement to release the hostages with Hamas is close, but not final.” At the same time, he claimed that the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people is not conditional on this agreement. It will become Palestine.
An hour earlier, “John Kirby”, the coordinator of strategic communications of the White House, claimed that the agreement to release the prisoners was close.
Axios media reporter reported that 50 captives are supposed to be released in the initial phase of the agreement. He clarified that if Hamas wanted to release more prisoners during the four days of the ceasefire, the ceasefire would be extended by one day for the release of every 10 prisoners.
Before this, the Zionist Radio and Television Organization had published some of the details of a possible agreement between the Zionist regime and Hamas for the exchange of prisoners.
CNN news, citing a knowledgeable diplomat and a source close to the issue, reported that Qatar hopes to announce an agreement today to release the civilian hostages held by Hamas during the Al-Aqsa storm operation in exchange for a cessation of hostilities.
According to this report, this agreement will include the release of some Israeli civilian prisoners in exchange for the cessation of hostilities.
These speculations are expressed while Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political office of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced this morning (Tuesday) in a statement that negotiations are underway for the exchange of prisoners with the Zionist regime and the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza.
Hanieh announced in a short statement published by the Hamas Telegram channel: “The movement [Hamas] has delivered its answer to the brothers in Qatar and the mediators, and we are getting closer to the ceasefire agreement.”
