Announcing the need for 840 million dollars of the World Food Program to help Afghanistan
The World Food Program announced that it needs 840 million dollars in the next six months to help 7 million people in Afghanistan. |
According to the regional office of Tasnim News Agency, the global program Food stated in a report that in October it was able to help only 4.4 million needy people in Afghanistan with food and cash. One million people received non-cash aid and one million people were given cash remittances including some basic winter aid.
The report added: Another part of this aid includes Providing nutrition to lactating and pregnant women, infants and school students.
The World Food Program also announced: if financial resources are provided, it will try to reach 6.5 million People in 386 regions of Afghanistan should help with food during the winter.
Many needy people in Kabul have told the media that they cannot afford to buy the basic materials of their life when the cold season arrives.
However, according to the previous statistics of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 29.2 million people in Afghanistan currently need humanitarian aid.
Ucha added: Deporting thousands of refugees without documents from Pakistan will increase the number of needy people in the coming winter.
