Lung disease left the Pope at home
Some media reported the deterioration of "Pope Francis", the leader of the world's Catholics, due to contracting pneumonia and canceling his appointments. |
According to this German newspaper, in prayer Angelus appeared in St. Peter’s Square with an IV tube on his arm and only through a video screen, and Francis spoke of contracting pneumonia. Of course, the news is contradictory and the newspaper Passer Noye Perse wrote in a news about it: The Pope had to cancel his appointment due to “mild flu”. According to this German newspaper, Pope Francis on Sunday, due to respiratory illness, the traditional Angelus prayer held in the chapel of his residence in the Vatican. He said in a hoarse voice: “I can’t stand behind the window today, because there is this problem of inflammation in my lungs.” He did not appear for prayers at the window of the Apostolic Palace as usual, but appeared in a live broadcast from his residence. He also asked a priest to say a prayer.
The 86-year-old Argentinian man looked tired and sometimes coughed during the prayer. He sat next to the priest in the chapel of the Vatican guest house Santa Marta, where he lives. However, at the end of his prayer, he offered a benediction.
On Saturday, the Holy See surprisingly announced that the Pope had to cancel all his appointments due to illness. The cause was declared to be “mild flu”. It was later announced that Francis had undergone a CT scan at a clinic in Rome to rule out complications from the disease. The Pope was able to return to the Vatican after that.
Francis’ health has been in trouble for some time. He has been treated twice in a clinic this year. First, because of pneumonia; He later had to undergo open abdominal surgery under general anesthesia. When asked about his health, he often insists that he is still alive!
