According to Fars news agency’s foreign policy group, the deputy of legal and international affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Reza Najafi, on Monday, December 6th, at the 28th meeting of the annual conference of member states of the Chemical Weapons Convention, while condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime, He explained the crimes of this regime against the defenseless people of Palestine and the killing of more than 15,000 Palestinian people, especially women and children, and the bombing of houses, schools, mosques, hospitals, and churches, and called for an investigation and investigation by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and international institutions in relation to with the possible use of chemical weapons, especially the nerve agent by this regime in Gaza. by the Israeli regime, announced that these crimes are the international responsibility of this regime and its supporters, and the perpetrators and caretakers must be brought to justice.

For the use of nuclear bombs against Gaza, the Israeli regime considered this as proof of the dangerous nature of the weapons of mass destruction, including chemical weapons of this regime, against the peace and security of the Middle East region, and emphasized the universal importance of the Chemical Weapons Convention and joining without any preconditions or delays. The regime emphasized this document in order to achieve one of the main pillars of the convention. And the obligations of the member states in the Chemical Weapons Convention and the promotion of free trade in chemical substances according to the goals and purpose of the Convention, called for the dismantling of such illegal actions, contrary to the provisions of the Convention and limiting the trade of chemical substances and the peaceful use of chemistry.

He called such illegal actions a hindrance to the economic and technological development of the countries targeted by these actions and a violation of the human rights of the citizens of these countries. As a result, Western countries announced the embargo of the medicines they needed and considered them to be victims of the unilateral actions of these countries.

This senior Iranian diplomat called the actions of Western countries not only illegal and in violation of the convention, but also immoral. and called it inhumane.

Najafi criticized the approach of Western countries regarding the chemical case of Syria and emphasized that political pressures and decisions not only do not help the chemical case of Syria, but the situation of this It makes the case more complicated.

The deputy of legal and international affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: turning away from the good tradition of consensus in the decisions of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and imposing decisions by voting with a fragile relative majority in order to achieve the goals The narrow-minded politics of some countries has caused the loss of credibility of the organization’s decisions and weakened the effective implementation of the convention.

He also demanded that the member governments return to the good tradition of consensus in order to prevent further divisions between the members and preserve the technical nature of the organization and the politicization of the atmosphere of this institution.

Najafi also referring to the successful holding of the 11th international course on the medical aspects of aid and protection against chemical weapons in October of this year and the participation of 25 international experts and the holding of field programs and examination of the country’s chemical weapons victims in this course. He emphasized the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold such courses in order to create capacity for the members of the organization in treating victims of chemical weapons. It started at the headquarters of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague and will continue until December 10.
