According to the regional office report of Tasnim News Agency, English publication The Telegraph announced in a report that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has threatened to attack the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) if Islamabad does not pay five percent construction tax to this group.

The commander of the TTP’s “Gandapur” wing warned in a video message that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a nearly 2,000-mile long infrastructure project that includes roads and railways from China to the Arabian Sea, could be attacked by the group. It will be destroyed.

The commander of the Pakistani Taliban addressed the construction workers in the Ismail Khan valley of Pakistan and said that five percent of the tax everywhere is our share and added: if not paid Tax, machinery and manpower will be targeted in this project.

According to this report, China’s concerns about security threats to its investments in Pakistan is a big reason why the project CPEC has lost its momentum in recent years.

“Michael Kugelman”, director of the South Asia department of the “Wilson” think tank, said: “These security risks are increasing.” Because it is not only the Baloch separatists, but also the terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan who threaten China’s interests in Pakistan and actually attack them.
