“Mirziayev” order to increase the domestic production of medicine by 35%

According to the Fars News Agency reporter in Tashkent, Uzbekistan President Shaukat Mirziyoyev ordered a 35% increase in domestic production in the pharmaceutical industry in a meeting to support production and increase the export potential of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical and electrotechnical industry. .

He stated: During the last 6 years, pharmaceutical production has increased 3 times, exports have increased 6 times. 177 projects worth 525 million dollars were launched and a total of 50,000 job opportunities were created.

Mirziayev continued: But this does not match the existing potential. Because 1 billion and 600 million dollars worth of drugs are consumed in the country every year. The share of domestic producers is only 18% and the rest is provided through imports.

The President of Uzbekistan noted: In recent years, this industry has received a lot of support, a lot of money has been allocated and pharmaceutical areas has been created. But they are not fully used. Emphasis should be placed on localization and entrepreneurs’ projects should be supported. The main focus of this work is people’s satisfaction.

Mirziayev emphasized the importance of examining foreign experiences and attracting famous brands to the country.

He He emphasized the need to speed up the construction of the “Tashkent Pharma Park” complex and attract a private partner in this project.

In general, there are 173 projects worth 1 billion 500 million dollars in this industry, of which 600 million dollars will be allocated to finance them.

The responsible authorities announced that as a result of the implementation of the projects in 2024, production of 400 million dollars and exports worth 160 million dollars will be created.

During the last 6 years, 224 projects worth 640 million dollars have been launched in this sector. It is expected that exports will reach one billion dollars by the end of this year.

For a worthy position in this market, it is necessary to cooperate with reliable brands and produce competitive products. This will be the main focus of 141 projects worth 2 billion dollars for next year.

2 GW of solar and wind power plants will be launched this year and another 4 GW in 2024. They need a large number of cables, generators, inverters, transformers.

Also, it was decided to allocate 100 million dollars to support the government to use advanced technologies, innovations and international standards in this field. .

The responsible authorities provided the president with reports on increasing production by 20% next year and increasing the volume of copper processing to 140,000 tons.

It was also noted that there is an opportunity to increase exports to one billion and 500 million dollars and to 2 billion dollars in 2025.
