What will be the future of the Toad party and Mohammad Al-Halbousi after the expulsion of Al-Halbousi from the parliament?
Despite the initial prediction that the Progress Party and Mohammad Al-Halbusi will withdraw from the parliament and as a result of the existing political mechanism, but Al-Halbusi's survival in the competitions for the provincial councils showed that this party will not leave the political arena. |
According to the report of Tasnim International Group, after “Mohammed Al-Halbousi” the Speaker of the Parliament was dismissed due to crimes such as forcing a Member of Parliament to resign by the order of the Federal Court, the attached ministers They announced their resignations to the “Advance Party”.
These ministers included the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Planning and the Minister of Culture. Also, the Toad party, headed by Mohammad Al-Halbusi, announced that he will not participate in the parliament meetings, but the representatives affiliated with this party announced that they will boycott the parliament meetings, and the heads of some parliamentary commissions affiliated with this party also announced that They will resign from their positions.
But after a few days, Al-Halbousi participated in the election meetings of his party for the provincial council elections, but the resignation of the ministers affiliated to this party was rejected due to Sudanese opposition. . Also, according to some news sources, this party is conducting discussions to introduce a candidate to replace Al-Halbousi. The current situation leads us to the question, “What will be the future of Toregh and Al-Halbousi party in the short term, considering the agreements that have happened?”
Trying not to repeat Sadr’s mistake
It seems that Al-Halbousi’s action regarding continuing to participate in the elections and not resigning his representatives from the parliament in order not to repeat the mistake” Moqtada Sadr” In fact, withdrawing from the political system is effective if, firstly, it is accompanied by turning to the street, and secondly, the opposite party – which is the Shiite coordination framework here – should not have an alternative.
Also, the meeting of Sunni leaders at the house of Khamis Al-Khanjar, the leader of the Al-Siyadeh coalition (the largest Sunni coalition), on the night of Al-Halbousi’s expulsion from the parliament, showed that almost all Sunni leaders Among them, Khamis al-Khanjar wants to continue the existing political mechanism. Considering this situation, it seems that Al-Halbousi uses the issue of street camping and the insecurity of Sunni areas in his vacuum as a pressure lever and not as a practical solution so that there is no way back.

Possible alternatives to al-Halbousi
In this context, three parties are involved in the final selection of candidates for the speaker of the parliament instead of al-Halbousi:
1- “Determination Alliance” led by “Mothni al-Samrai” which is also supported by the Shia coordination framework. The possible options of this coalition are Mothni al-Samrai, “Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani” the former speaker of the parliament and “Khaled al-Obeidi” the former minister of defense in the government of “Haider al-Abadi”. Al-Halbousi, who is the other side of this political conflict, and his possible options are “Ziyad Al-Janabi”, one of the representatives very close to Al-Halbousi, “Shalan Karim”, the head of the Al-Siyade faction, and “Abdul Karim Abtan”.
