According to the Fars news agency reporter in Tashkent, the 8th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic and trade cooperation between Uzbekistan and Austria was held in Vienna.
In this The ceremony was attended by Badruddin Abedov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Florian Fraucher, Director General of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy of Austria, Philip Gaddy, Deputy Director of the Austrian Economic Chamber, heads of ministries and specialized departments, as well as more than 100 representatives of business circles. Two countries participated.
In the framework of the eighth meeting of the Uzbekistan-Austria intergovernmental commission on economic and trade cooperation, the agenda of the day of trade, economic and bilateral investment cooperation as well as the development of industrial cooperation was examined.
The interest of Austrian companies in the Uzbekistan market due to large-scale reforms and favorable investment climate was also emphasized.
In this The ceremony paid special attention to investment attraction mechanisms, tourism development, application of “green” technologies, mutual cooperation in the field of alternative energy, mining industry, infrastructure and railway renovation, export of medical equipment, animal husbandry and other aspects.
The Austrian side made more than 20 proposals to expand cooperation in the mentioned fields.
The final protocol in which the agreements on ratification in the near future on the avoidance of double taxation , the agreement on air communication, the opening of the Austrian foreign trade representative office in Uzbekistan, the improvement of the base of mutual information and also the participation of companies in the exhibitions of both countries were signed.
In the business meeting, the successful history of the implementation of joint projects in Uzbekistan in the chemical and mining, pharmaceutical and health industries was unveiled. Agreements were reached on attracting financial resources of the Austrian supervisory bank and leading Austrian companies to certain projects in the fields of chemicals, mining and geology, agriculture and health. It was recognized in January 1992 and political relations were established between the two countries on March 25, 1992.
