Lavrov: 5 littoral countries have exclusive jurisdiction to solve issues related to the Caspian Sea

According to the reporter of Fars News Agency’s foreign policy group, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, today (Tuesday, December 14) at the annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the five Caspian coastal countries, made statements on the issue of transit and the strategic importance of launching the corridor. He pointed out the North-South transport and said: “The deepening of practical cooperation in the Caspian Sea is especially important in the direction of the formation of a multipolar world.” He said in this meeting that the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan were present, he added: the coastal countries of the Caspian Sea play an important role in establishing security and sustainable development in the Eurasian region.
