The Iranian ambassador in Yerevan said: “The issue of Gaza is not the issue of Hamas. It is the issue of Palestine. Gaza is the essence of Palestine and the clear expression of the suffering and pain of the people who have been under the oppression, pressure and crime of Zionism for 75 years. Gaza is part of a whole. Today, Palestine is the benchmark of human dignity. What Israel is doing in Gaza today is a clear example of a war crime and a crime against humanity.

Mehdi Sobhani stated that the positions of the European Union and the United States regarding the events in Gaza and the crimes of the Israeli regime and The fundamentalist insistence on it shows the peak of moral degeneration and dementia, he added: Gaza showed that the epistemic pluralism claimed by the West and liberal democracy based on modernity has not only brought peace to the world, but has also been the cause of historical atrocities. Cruelty in Western civilization is more than any other civilization and empire. Now, the West, especially America and Europe, are facing a tough test that will affect the fate of Western civilization and the Western-oriented world order.

He added: Western culture and civilization is the same civilization that when more than six thousand children are martyred with phosphorus bombs, they say that Israel is defending itself. Is killing children self-defense?

Sabhani emphasized that the punishment for the crimes in Gaza will be on them both inside and outside.

At the end of his speech, the Iranian ambassador listed five principles as the fundamental position of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the developments in Gaza, which are: The war in Gaza and the crimes and genocide must be stopped. The crossings should be opened and Gaza should be released from the siege. The policy of displacing the people of Gaza is doomed and bound to fail and must be dealt with. War criminals in Gaza must be prosecuted. A special and specialized committee should be formed to deal with Israel’s war crimes.
