According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency

, two members of the former negotiating team of the Taliban denied the reports of the Pakistani media about the trip of Sirajuddin Haqqani, the interior minister of the Taliban ruling body in Afghanistan, to Qatar for negotiations.

Before this, Pakistan’s senior investigative journalist Umar Cheema had reported, citing an anonymous journalist living in Peshawar, that Haqqani had gone to Qatar using a Pakistani passport to negotiate with the Americans.

In this report, quoting a reporter from Peshawar who claimed to be traveling with Haqqani, it is stated that this senior member of the Taliban showed his Pakistani passport as a travel document at the immigration counter. And this caused the journalist to wonder how Haqqani was able to get a Pakistani passport. Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, a member of the former negotiating team of the Taliban, in a conversation with “Pakistan Daily”, strongly rejects this report.

Serajuddin Haqqani is one of the most wanted During the 20 years of armed resistance against America and its allies in NATO, the Taliban figures were not members of the negotiating team with America.

In March 2008 , the US Department of State put Haqqani on its terrorist list and a year later set a $5 million reward for information leading to his arrest.

In 2014, the “Reward for Justice” program of the US State Department increased its previous reward offer for information on Sirajuddin Haqqani to $10 million.

Rahim Laghmani, one of the media figures close to the Taliban, said: Suppose Haqqani had flown to Doha to participate in the negotiations. Does he also line up with ordinary passengers waiting for a flight at the airport? Or will a special flight or a chartered plane take him to Doha? Is it Sirajuddin Haqqani? Why didn’t even the CIA have any photos of him at that time?
