Since last April 26, when the battle between the army and the rapid reaction forces in Sudan started, both sides have been repeatedly mediating in the city of Saudi Arabia and the United States. “Jeddah” have signed a ceasefire agreement, but none of them adhered to it, and they have insisted on eliminating the other side through military means.

In the meeting IGAD decided to form a joint mechanism with the presence of regional and international parties to resolve the Sudan crisis. 6 members of the African Union supported an end to the fighting in Sudan. It is stated in this road map: It will adopt a plan that is composed of the framework of Jeddah negotiations and IGAD’s proposals in order to stop the fighting in Sudan, resume the political process and transfer power from the military to civilian politicians.

This road map plan includes establishing a permanent ceasefire, turning the capital of Sudan into a city without weapons, withdrawing the hostile forces (army and rapid reaction forces) from it, and establishing an African force for Protection of strategic centers in Khartoum.
