According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency, the government embassy The Taliban announced in Islamabad that Afghanistan’s economic affiliates in Karachi and Islamabad discussed trade problems with Maria Kazi, the head of foreign trade at the Pakistan Ministry of Commerce, and Zubair Khan, the secretary of the ministry.
In a part of the announcement of this embassy, it is stated that the officials of the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan have promised that the remaining containers will be released considering the losses of the traders.
The government of Pakistan recently They imposed a 10% tax on a number of commercial goods of Afghan merchants that are transported from Karachi port to Afghanistan in the form of transit, and they also asked Afghan merchants to provide cash guarantees equal to the value of their goods in Pakistani banks.
On December 7th, the government of Pakistan released about three thousand containers of commercial goods of Afghan merchants, which had been stopped in the port of Karachi for several months due to the change in Pakistan’s transit trade bill.
However, around 450 other containers which were blacklisted by Pakistan were not cleared. Pakistan’s blacklist includes 212 commercial items that Pakistan does not allow Afghan traders to transport through transit.
