According to the report of the international group Tasnim news agency quoting The newspaper “Tags Shaw”, the French government has suffered a heavy defeat in the issue of immigration. The National Assembly once again rejected the government’s draft immigration law.

According to this German newspaper, the Paris National Assembly initially rejected the controversial immigration law draft. The corresponding plan by the Greens was met with a limited majority and supported by the left, right and right populists. According to the Elysee Palace, French Interior Minister Gerald Daronin submitted his resignation after that, which was followed by the president of this country, Emmanuel Macron.

Dermanin on TF1 channel admitted to the failure and said: “Of course this is a failure because I want to give the police, gendarmes, prefects and judges a tool for fight against illegal immigration.” Daramin emphasized: the legal text will continue its fundamental path. He proposed three options: stopping the bill, re-reading it in the Senate or referring it to a committee in both houses of parliament. The bill was welcomed. Marine Le Pen, head of the extreme National Assembly party, expressed satisfaction with the result. After that, the representatives of the left wing asked Taramin to resign.

The government has announced that it wants to use this proposed law to control immigration and improve integration. To this end, the government wants to grant temporary residency to immigrants who previously worked without residency documents in understaffed jobs. At the same time, the government wants to be able to force some immigrants who were previously protected to leave the country and expand deportations.

Macron’s centrist wing By the time of the parliamentary elections in June 2022, it no longer has an absolute majority in the French National Assembly and is therefore dependent on opposition votes for its projects. The fact that there is a majority against the government camp is a big blow for them. France’s interior minister, Dharmanin, had previously tried to woo the opposition camp with soft words and concessions such as reforming medical care for illegal immigrants.

After Voting in the National Assembly, the three factions of the presidential camp (Renaissance, Modem, Horizon) demanded not to withdraw the rejected draft of the immigration law, but to continue the legislative process as soon as possible. In a joint statement, it is stated: This text is necessary and expected for the French. use that allows the law to be approved without the final vote of the parliamentarians. The government will likely survive a subsequent no-confidence motion, but will damage its image in the process. For Macron, the reform of the immigration law is the second biggest reform project after the pension reform.

Given that Emmanuel Macron’s government lacks an absolute majority of seats in the parliament, it was expected that the parties France’s political parties will prevent its approval if they integrate opposition to the controversial immigration bill.

Thus, the French National Assembly on Monday approved a plan with 270 votes in favor and 265 votes against. passed to reject the bill proposed by the government of this country to organize the immigration situation.

With the votes of the left parties, conservative republicans and the extreme right party “National Community” which every One of them had some kind of opposition to this bill, a very heavy political defeat was imposed on the government. He has to choose between going through the legal path of this bill in the Senate or examining it in a joint committee of representatives and senators and discarding it.

While the right wing especially The extreme right do not consider the measures considered in this bill to control immigration to be sufficient and strict, on the other hand, the left parties accuse the government of treating immigrants and asylum seekers as inhumane.

The immigration bill proposed by the government was previously examined in the Senate and approved after changes in its text.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the leader of the radical left wing France, after passing a motion rejecting the controversial immigration bill in the country’s parliament, published a message on X and wrote: The Minister of Interior tamed the small groups but could not persuade the National Assembly to go along with the bill.
