Exposing the secret deployment of British forces in Cyprus to support Israel
A British media reported that Britain secretly stationed at least 500 soldiers in a base in Cyprus, which seems to be interpreted as supporting the Zionist regime in the war against Gaza. |
According to the report published on the declassifieduk website, James Hippie, who serves as the minister for the British Armed Forces, wrote in a letter to the British Prime Minister. confirmed that about 500 troops were sent to Cyprus.
England has two military bases in Cyprus, which is considered as the territory of this country; Dakilia in the eastern part of Cyprus and Akratari in the west of this island.
Akratari Air Force Base is larger and also includes a base used by the US Army. This British Air Force base has been used as an area for bombing operations in the Middle East.
Hippy’s letter also states that additional troops were also sent to Egypt, Israel and Lebanon, but did not disclose their numbers. The deployment of these troops brought the number of British forces in Cyprus to 2,717, with an additional 273 civilian personnel there. Another 129 US troops are said to be stationed at British bases in Cyprus, but it is not clear whether this number has increased in recent months.
