Axios: The attacks in Yemen have made the journey of Israeli ships longer and more expensive

A base close to American and Israeli sources reported that the attacks of the Yemeni army have made the journey of Israeli ships longer and more expensive.

According to the Fars News Agency International Group, a news site close to American and Zionist sources reported that the threats and attacks of the Yemeni army in the past days have made the journey of Israeli ships longer and more expensive.

In this report on Friday morning, Axios quoted the Israeli army and wrote that since the start of the war in Gaza, the Yemeni army has fired more than 70 drones and ballistic missiles at Israel.

This media claimed that almost all these missiles and drones were intercepted by Israeli, American, French and Saudi defense systems.

These attacks, despite this, have completely stopped the entry of commercial ships into the port of Eilat. Axios wrote: “As a result of these attacks, the arrival of commercial ships to the port of Eilat in southern Israel has almost completely stopped.” Asians who want to go to Israel have to go through the route that bypasses Africa, which makes the trip more expensive and takes three weeks longer.

According to Axios, in the last two weeks, the ships that were going to other ports outside of Israel were also forced to use longer routes so as not to be the target of Yemeni attacks.

In recent weeks, parallel to the intensification of Israel’s attacks in Gaza, the Yemeni army has also narrowed the field for Israeli ships that intend to pass through the Bab al-Mandab strait in the Red Sea.

In the latest incident in this regard, Al Jazeera network reported on Thursday evening, quoting a Yemeni source, that Ansarullah forces seized a cargo ship bound for occupied Palestine. (more details).

Brigadier Yahya Saree, spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, emphasized last week that the Yemeni army will not allow ships bound for occupied Palestine to pass through Yemeni waters, unless they carry medicine and food for be the people of Gaza.

This Yemeni army official said: “Any ship bound for the Zionist regime will be a legitimate target for us.” We warn all ships and companies not to have anything to do with Israeli ports.”

The American and Israeli authorities have so far been unable to find a solution to deal with the Yemeni army. The Axios website, citing a senior Israeli official, claims that Netanyahu’s war cabinet has decided to refrain from giving a military response to Yemen’s Ansarullah actions in the Red Sea against Israeli ships.

According to this Israeli official whose name was not mentioned, Tel Aviv does not want Ansarullah to be able to divert the focus of the Israeli army from the war in Gaza.

Axios also claimed that the US President Joe Biden’s administration sent messages to Ansarullah through several channels and asked them to stop attacking ships in the Red Sea.

Axios website, but the American officials admit that these warnings have not had an effect on the Houthis (Ansarullah) and they have not reduced the intensity of their attacks.

The formation of a new naval coalition is one of the other options that America and Israel think they can use to counter the actions of the Yemeni army. Two Israeli and American officials claimed in an interview with Axios that Washington is expected to announce the formation of this new maritime task force on Friday.

“John Kirby”, the spokesman of the National Security Council of the White House, claimed last week that the Department of State and the Department of Defense of the United States are trying to persuade countries to participate in this naval alliance.

A senior Israeli official said that the naval task force is not going to escort ships in the Red Sea. He claimed that the presence of more ships in the region “makes it easier to respond to threats.”

The Yemeni army has warned the ships that participate in this coalition. “Mohammed Al-Bakhiti”, one of the officials of Yemen’s Ansarullah, warned in an interview with Al-Mayadeen news channel on Thursday that Yemen will consider any ship belonging to the US Navy or other countries participating in this coalition as a legitimate target.
