Kakar wrote: Since August 2021, at least 16 Afghan citizens have committed suicide attacks inside Pakistan, while 65 terrorists killed in clashes with security forces, who were killed mostly in the border area, have been identified as Afghan nationals.
He added: No responsible government can ignore such concerns. Whenever we raised this issue with the interim government of Afghanistan, they advised us to “look within”; So we finally decided to heed their advice to get our house in order.
The prime minister of the interim government of Pakistan, rejecting the reports of human rights organizations about the persecution of Afghan refugees and their forced deportation, claimed: Our emphasis is on returning Voluntary, safe and dignified individuals along with their legal assets and not on deportation. About 93 percent of those who returned to Afghanistan did so voluntarily.
He continued: The important thing is that none of the 1.46 million Afghans who applied for a proof of registration card, as well as about 800,000 people with Afghan citizenship cards have not been returned.
