According to the foreign policy group of Fars News Agency, a joint meeting of like-minded researchers participating in the international conference on regional studies, Asian politics and the neighborhood of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Tuesday evening, December 28, with the presence of Hossein Amirabdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Some of the senior managers of this ministry were held at the center of political and international studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Majidi, the head of the strategic research institute of the Expediency Recognition Forum and the scientific secretary of the conference, gave a report at the beginning of this meeting. Briefly presented the goals and programs of this conference and the research topics raised by the researchers participating in its meetings. Appreciating the initiative of this meeting, he pointed to the discussion of the country’s positioning in the international system in transition and He explained the dimensions of the neighborhood policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the current government by looking at the recent developments in the world as well as the diversity and multiplicity of governmental and non-governmental actors and the increasing complexity of the actions. He called a balanced, Asian and neighbor-oriented foreign policy in the environment of unstable and complex regional and international actions, in order to secure the maximum interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran and added: the government’s neighbor-oriented foreign policy is one of various drivers such as the discourse power of the system and the country’s ability in the field Science and technology benefit from soft power and defensive deterrence power.
The foreign minister said: among the priorities of the neighbor-oriented foreign policy, strengthening economic ties, energy and its transmission lines, transit and trade, security and the environment are considered. Stating that Iran’s foreign policy is not tied to a particular pole or axis, he added: “Wherever the national interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran are, we will be present there.” Professors from various universities, scientific and educational centers from Tehran and other provinces and cities of the country were present.
