According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency, “Tedros Adhanom Kyprisos, the Secretary General of the World Health Organization, announced that the organization needs 185 million dollars to continue providing medicine and support Afghanistan’s medical centers and prevent the death of children and women due to malnutrition and food insecurity.
He wrote on X social network: 13 million people in Afghanistan, which is about 30% of the total population of this country, are facing severe food insecurity.
Kyprisos said that nearly one million children are severely malnourished and 2.3 million children suffer from moderate malnutrition. Facing a harsh winter, the risk of death from infectious diseases is higher.
