America’s support for the amended version of the Security Council resolution on Gaza

According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, the United States, which prevented the completion of several Security Council resolutions on Gaza announced that it supports the revised version of a new resolution.
The vote on the Security Council resolution was postponed for the fourth consecutive day on Friday, but the US representative to the United Nations said hours later that the US and the Arab countries A modified version has arrived that Washington supports.
Linda Thomas Greenfield, the US representative to the United Nations told reporters: “We are ready to vote on it. This resolution supports Egypt’s priority to establish a mechanism to support humanitarian assistance, and we are ready to move forward.”
It is still unclear whether other members of the Security Council, especially Russia agrees with the changes made in the text or not. On Friday, it was decided that the representatives of the member states of the Security Council would consult with their capitals about the resolution.
In a version of this draft seen by the Guardian newspaper, the part that called for an “immediate suspension of hostilities” in order to send humanitarian aid was deleted. and replaced it with the words “immediate steps to enable safe and unhindered access to humanitarian aid”.
