The dispute between former partners/ the suspension of the Rahmani project in Germany due to the US sanctions
The German media reported in a report that the US sanctions against the family companies of the former Speaker of the Afghan Parliament have caused one of their projects to be stopped in Germany. |
German media reported that a large residential complex project with the participation of German partners was supposed to be built in the village of “Quantum” in the city of “Ehningen”, but it was stopped by the order of the municipality of this city.
This project was related to the “Ocean Group” headed by “Ajmal Rahmani”, the son of the former speaker of the Afghan parliament, which has now been stopped. His son was also a member of this parliament.
On the 20th of December this year, the US Treasury Department sanctioned 44 companies and entities belonging to Mir Rahman Rahmani and Ajmal Rahmani due to what he had announced as cross-border corruption.
This ministry stated that the Rahmanis had launched complex financial corruption through their own companies in Afghanistan and embezzled millions of dollars from US government contracts in support of the security forces of the previous Afghan government. In response to this sanction, the United States has rejected the accusations.
