American Red Sea Alliance; Superficial solution instead of root treatment
The US is trying to attract more and more countries to this coalition, because it wants to disperse the hatred of other countries against it because of its obvious support for Israel, and to make the joint patrol a legitimate operation. |
According to the international group Tasnim news agency quoting China International Radio, which countries are in the coalition Are the American navy united in the Red Sea? It is still not possible to give a precise and clear answer to this question. According to the list published by the Pentagon on December 18, these countries include the United States, Britain, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain. But after the publication of this list, the Spanish Ministry of Defense immediately denied its participation in this coalition for the purpose of joint patrolling in the Red Sea, saying that joining the coalition depends on the authorization of the European Union and NATO, and that this decision cannot be taken unilaterally.
This is while the Pentagon reviewed the said list on December 21 and announced that more than 20 countries have agreed to join this US-led coalition, but at least eight countries are opposed to making their names public.
In addition, it should be noted that membership in this coalition does not necessarily mean that warships should be sent to the Red Sea along with the American fleet. For example, the Netherlands and Norway, as members of this coalition, only send 12 soldiers to joint patrols and will not send a ship.
Also, it can be pointed out that in the public list of the coalition, except for Bahrain, the name No other country from the region can be seen, let alone a country with regional influence. This shows that most of the regional powers have a cautious approach to this issue.
Countries that do not want to join the aforementioned coalition or have participated but do not want their membership to be made public, may have presented various public reasons, but they are among the real reasons. They, for sure, do not want to be seen as supporters of Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
Even America itself is the same. The United States is trying to attract as many countries as possible to the coalition because it wants to reduce the hatred of other countries against it, which has gradually accumulated because of its apparent support for Israel and three times vetoing the Security Council resolution to establish a long-term cease-fire in Gaza. disperse and make the joint patrol a legitimate operation.
The Red Sea crisis is undoubtedly one of the results of the “butterfly effect” of Hamas’s conflict with Israel. Because the Houthi militias have announced that in order to support Hamas and oppose Israel’s operations in Gaza, they will attack Israeli ships or ships that transport goods for Israel, and until Israel allows more humanitarian equipment to enter the Gaza Strip. If not, the attacks will continue.
Therefore, in order to end the Red Sea crisis, we must return to the basic point of this issue, which is the peaceful resolution of the conflict between Hamas and Israel. To resolve the Red Sea crisis, there is no better option than establishing a long-term ceasefire between Palestine and Israel. America, which wants to solve the Red Sea crisis as a separate issue while avoiding the war between Hamas and Israel, is actually looking for a superficial solution to a problem, not its root treatment.
But a significant and important point It is that according to the current conditions, even this “superficial” problem will probably not be solved.
