According to the report of Fars International News Agency, Egyptian sources told Reuters news agency today (Monday) that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are not willing to accept Egypt’s proposals regarding a ceasefire in Gaza.
According to these sources, Cairo has proposed to the two resistance groups to give up the administration and government of Gaza in exchange for a permanent ceasefire, and while holding elections, Hamas should be given a guarantee that its members will not be tried.
On the other hand, Hamas has refused to offer any concessions other than the release of a number of other Israeli prisoners.
According to Reuters, Islamic Jihad Palestine also said in connection with the indirect negotiations with the Zionist regime: “The enemy will not obtain in the negotiations what it did not obtain in the battle field”.
According to Reuters, a A delegation from Islamic Jihad arrived in Cairo yesterday to negotiate with the Egyptian authorities regarding the cessation of attacks. There are three goals: “stopping attacks”, “enemy retreat” and “Gaza reconstruction”. According to him, the exchange of prisoners will take place only with the equation “all against all”. And the withdrawal of the occupiers from Gaza does not exchange prisoners.
Mohammed Al-Handi, the deputy secretary general of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine, also said that the position of this movement is completely consistent with the position of Hamas and is against negotiations. It is about the Israeli prisoners before the comprehensive ceasefire and the complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
