AFP: Hamas delegation goes to Cairo to review the ceasefire plan
A Western media has claimed that a delegation from the Hamas movement is going to Cairo to review Egypt's initiative regarding the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza. |
According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, a delegation from the Hamas movement will travel to Cairo on Friday in order to present its views on Egypt’s initiative regarding the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza.
Egypt’s innovative plan was presented last week to the officials of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements who traveled to Cairo.
Agence France-Presse reported, quoting a Hamas official, that a high-ranking delegation of this movement is going to Cairo this Friday to meet with the Egyptian authorities and deliver the response of the Palestinian groups.
This Hamas official added: “Palestinian groups have given some points and considerations about the exchange of prisoners and the number of Palestinian prisoners who are supposed to be released in exchange for the release of the Zionist prisoners, as well as the related guarantees.” They want a military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, some sources close to Hamas said that Egypt’s plan included three stages and emphasized on an extendable ceasefire, the gradual release of dozens of Zionist hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners.
