According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, a day after issuing a tsunami warning as a result of a strong earthquake in Japan, the country’s authorities canceled this warning on Tuesday.
A 7.6-magnitude earthquake caused severe damage in the city of Wajima in Ishikawa Prefecture, and at least seven people died in the city. In this city, a seven-story building collapsed and more than 200 buildings caught fire. Reports indicate that 14 people are trapped under the debris in the city of Wajima.
According to the news agency “Kyodo” of Japan, the tsunami warning that covered large areas in this country was canceled on Tuesday morning, after It was canceled that the highest wave of about 1.2 meters reached the port of Wajima on Monday night.
This earthquake has also caused damages in Niigata, Toyama, Fukui and Gifu prefectures.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said in a press conference that it is “very difficult” for vehicles to enter the earthquake-stricken areas of Noto, but about 1,000 military personnel are involved in rescue operations.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the center of this earthquake occurred about 30 kilometers east-northeast of Wajima and at a temporary depth of 16 kilometers.
