According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency, “Zabih Allah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban government, announced that the authorities of the interim government of Pakistan have assured that they will reduce the pressure to deport Afghan refugees in this country. He added that the process of deporting refugees has recently started. Afghans from Pakistan have decreased compared to the past.

Mujahid noted that nearly two thousand families have returned from Pakistan in the past days, which shows a decrease in the deportation of Afghan refugees.

The spokesman of the Taliban government said: In the first days and weeks, up to 15,000 refugees returned to Afghanistan daily, but now this trend has decreased.

Some Pakistani media, quoting “Anwar Haq Kakar”, the prime minister of the interim government of Pakistan, announced that on the last day of 2023, nearly 1200 refugees returned to Afghanistan.
