America’s claim about the explosion of Shahpad Ansarullah in the Red Sea
The US Navy claimed that a Shahpad aircraft belonging to Yemen's Ansarullah exploded in the Red Sea, but did not harm the ships traveling in that area. |
According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, the US Navy claimed that a Shahpad belonging to Yemen’s Ansarullah, which was full of explosives, exploded in the Red Sea.
“Brad Cooper”, who is in charge of directing the US naval forces in the West Asia region, claimed in a gathering of reporters on Thursday that the Shahpad after traveling 50 miles inside the Red Sea in the lines The ferry exploded, but did not damage any of the ships.
Cooper stated that the purpose of this ship was not known: “This vessel came within two miles of the ships moving in that area and we all saw it explode.”
This happened a day after the 12 member countries of the US naval coalition, including Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the United States and England By issuing a joint statement, they asked Yemen’s Ansarullah to stop attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
Yemen’s Ansarullah, which currently controls a large part of this country, since the beginning of Israel’s attacks in Gaza, has announced that ships owned by, under the flag of, or destined for Israel are in the sea Red targets the attack. Despite this, Ansarullah has stated that the Red Sea is safe for other ships.
These attacks started on November 19 and Ansarallah announced that they will continue until the Israeli attacks in Gaza stop.
Cooper claimed that so far 25 attacks have been carried out by Ansarullah against ships traveling in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. He added that there was no sign of the attacks ending.
Last month, the United States and its partners promised to provide security for maritime traffic in the Red Sea by forming a coalition called “Operation Guards of Welfare”.
This US Navy official also claimed that the coalition ships have so far shot down 2 cruise missiles, 6 anti-ship ballistic missiles and 11 drones.
Despite this, the American maritime alliance faced neglect from the shipping companies from the beginning for various reasons, including the vagueness of its missions.
On Tuesday, the Danish shipping company Maersk announced that it will suspend the traffic of all its ships through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden until further notice.
A day later, the German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd also announced that the company still diverted its ships from the Suez Canal to the “Cape of Good Hope” in South Africa for security reasons.
Reuters reported on January 1, quoting sources in the shipping industry, that shipping companies do not know much about the new US maritime alliance. Shipping sources said at the same time that many ships still prefer not to cross the Red Sea or cancel their contracts.
Shipping industry sources say they have been provided with few practical details about the plan, and they do not know whether Washington will intervene directly in the event of an armed conflict.
Another reason for the failure of the American coalition was the failure of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to join this coalition. When the United States of America announced the formation of a naval coalition under its leadership to protect ships in the Red Sea, the absence of the names of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which were the main members of the coalition fighting the Yemenis, surprised some experts.
While Saudi Arabia has an army equipped with American weapons, it started a war against Ansarullah about 9 years ago, and in addition, it depends on the Red Sea ports for 36% of its imports.
