According to the international group Tasnim news agency, quoted by the Frankfurter newspaper, the trend of tea in Germany, Hungary and Slovakia both benefit from arms production. By doing this, they are even secretly supporting Ukraine in the war against Russia.
This report further states: “Viktor Orban”, the Prime Minister of Hungary, has been more helpful than the European Union in the Ukraine issue. And the helper to Russia has shown itself. The country has now significantly expanded its weapons production, which could be an advantage for Ukraine, according to media reports. In the past five years, three new factories have been opened in the country, which, among other things, assemble armored personnel carriers. Last year, the European Union promised to deliver one million artillery shells to Ukraine annually. However, this promise did not materialize: only 300,000 rounds were delivered to Ukraine last year.
The situation is similar in Slovakia, where Ukraine also benefits. After the election of Russia-friendly Prime Minister Robert Fico in Slovakia in the fall of 2023, he effectively announced the end of military aid to Ukraine. But a few months later, the Slovak government decided to support Ukraine in its war with Russia.
Slovak defense industries continue to supply Ukraine with weapons and ammunition, including Zuzana howitzers, domestically. The government of this country has explained that the reason for the change of view is adherence to existing contracts and the economic risks of withdrawing from international arms production. Accordingly, however, this support should not be from their own military reserves.

The state-owned munitions company ZVS Holding has sold 44 million euros worth of ammunition from January to July 2023.
