According to the report of the international group of Fars news agency, Anise Panier-Ronache, the Minister of “Energy Transition” in the French government, stated that the six new nuclear power plants that the Paris government is currently planning to build will meet France’s needs. It was not, and this country needs to build 14 new nuclear power plants in total and has planned to build this number of power plants. , building more nuclear reactors and expanding the mix of renewable energy sources is vital for France to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels from 60% to 40% by 2035.
He added: “The bill of this law includes eight other power plants that have been discussed by the government as an option so far.”
In 2022, the French president made nuclear energy the centerpiece of his policy to bring the country to zero carbon emissions by 2050. In this regard, he unveiled a project for the construction of six new European compressed water reactors and studies for the construction of eight more reactors. And the new energy strategy of this country must be approved by the parliament. The French Parliament has scheduled a debate on this strategy from the end of January.
