According to the Fars News Agency International Group, 35,000 Russian National Guard troops have been stationed in the territories annexed to Russia during the war with Ukraine and are protecting these areas strictly.
The “Kiev Post” website wrote on Monday that the Russian National Guard is directly subordinate to the President of this country, Vladimir Putin, and now, after the Russian Armed Forces, it is the second largest element of this country’s forces in It forms the annexed regions of Ukraine.
The main tasks of these forces is to identify Ukrainian partisans. They constantly patrol the controlled areas with fully equipped armored vehicles. These forces are equipped with tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters and artillery.
Russian National Guard forces are also protecting polling stations in the annexed territories during the referendum. They participated in September 2022 and 2023.
