President of the European Central Bank: Trump’s re-election is a threat to Europe
The head of the European Central Bank said that the re-election of Donald Trump as the president of the United States will be a threat to Europe. |
According to the report of Fars International News Agency, “Christine Lagarde”, the head of the European Central Bank, said that the re-election of Donald Trump in America as the president will be a threat to Europe.
Lagarde said: “If I want to learn from history – I mean his approach in the four years of his presidency – I would say [his approach] is clearly threatening.
The European official added: “Just look at trade tariffs, commitments to NATO and his views on climate change.”
“Donald Trump”, the former president of the United States and the leading candidate of the Republican Party for the 2024 presidential election of this country, has already declared himself the winner of the election and said that he has even chosen his deputy.
Trump said yesterday at a gathering of his supporters in the Republican state of Iowa: “I really can’t tell you anything about this, but I know who I will choose as my vice president.”
The possibility of Trump taking office has always been a source of concern for European officials. Thierry Breton, the French commissioner and head of the European Union’s internal market, stated a few days ago that Donald Trump, when he was the president of the United States, told senior European officials that if Europe is attacked, the United States will never help Europe.
He claimed that Trump made these words to “Ursula von” the President of the European Union Commission at the World Economic Forum in Davos, January 2020.
Donald Trump is the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, and polls predict that he will have a close race with Biden in the November election.
