Rasheeda Tlaib, a Palestinian representative of the US Congress, wrote in X: “The president has violated Article 1 of the Constitution by carrying out airstrikes in Yemen without the permission of Congress.” The American people are tired of endless wars.”
California Democratic Representative Ro Kana also stated in a statement that according to Article 1 of the US Constitution, Joe Biden should have obtained permission from Congress before carrying out these attacks.
Barbara Lee, another Democratic representative in the US Congress, while expressing her opposition to these attacks, called for an immediate ceasefire and to prevent “deadly, costly and catastrophic violence in the region”.
Lee, Thomas Massey, Matt Gaetz, Taylor Green, and Paulina Luna criticized the US attacks on Yemen without consulting Congress in separate statements.
