Chengiz Tomar further said: “With the opening of the Zangzor Corridor, the central corridor that connects Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan through the Caspian Sea slow, the connection is accessible through the land route and the distance between them becomes much smaller. Considering that logistics and transportation costs have increased significantly recently, the opening of this corridor will be an important opportunity for international trade and the global economy. This also provides land connection between Nakhchivan and Azerbaijan. The economic impact of Zangzor is in facilitating the connection between Turkish countries and the Republic of Turkey. In particular, the establishment of Turkey’s investment fund becomes more meaningful with Zangzor connection. Considering the decisions made between the member states, matters related to increasing economic cooperation and trade volume, the international central corridor from East to West from the Caspian Sea and the revival of the modern Silk Road are important. Recently, Kazakhstan has turned Turkmenistan, which is one of the important links of this corridor, into an important center and is creating a free economic zone called TURANSEZ. Today, the Central Corridor passes through Georgia both in terms of land lines and rail lines. If the Zangzor Corridor is opened, it will both shorten the road as an alternative route in the Central Corridor and create an uninterrupted land connection between the Turkish world”.
