Hamas warning about Israel’s attempt to occupy the border area between Egypt and Palestine
One of the senior leaders of the Hamas movement, while warning about any Israeli action to occupy the Philadelphia axis, said that this issue means moving towards the forced displacement of the Palestinian people. |
According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, Sami Abu Zahri, the head of the political department of Hamas movement outside Palestine, emphasized that Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, knows very well that he will not be able to achieve his goals in Gaza.
Abu Zahari told Al Jazeera: We warn against any Israeli move to occupy the Philadelphia axis; Because this issue means a step towards [forced displacement of the Palestinian people].
In continuation of the Zionists’ attempt to occupy the Philadelphia axis, this regime’s Channel 12 announced today, Saturday, that “Israel It has announced to Egypt that it will start a military operation to take control of the Philadelphia axis”.
Philadelphia Axis Location
Road Saladin, known as Philadelphia, is a narrow border crossing that separates Egypt from the Gaza Strip, and according to the agreement between Egypt and the Zionist regime in 1979, it is a buffer zone between Egypt and Gaza (which was occupied by the Zionists at that time).
The Zionist regime controlled that road until 2005, when it withdrew from Gaza, and now it is seeking to reoccupy it so that the border between Egypt and Gaza falls completely into the hands of the Zionists.
Abuzahari also asked Egypt to clearly reject the demands of the Zionist regime to occupy the Philadelphia axis.
He also emphasized that the Rafah crossing belongs to to Egypt and Palestine and it should remain as it is now.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, recently said clearly in this context: “Philadelphia axis… the southern stop of Gaza, should be under control of Israel” at the same time, he claimed that “we do not intend to occupy the Philadelphia axis”.
So far, Cairo has repeatedly responded to whispers of the occupation of this axis by Israel, about any military operations. In this buffer zone, which leads the residents of Gaza to flee en masse to Egypt under the pressure of bombardment and the closure of the return routes, he warned and emphasized that “this is a sovereignty issue and Cairo’s red line”.
