This increase indicates that the amount of trade between these two countries has been strengthened, and although the Taliban are in power in Afghanistan, the amount of trade between the two countries can increase.
Meanwhile, recently, the level of trade between Afghanistan and some other Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, also shows a significant increase. has exported to Afghanistan, while the amount of imports from Afghanistan reached only 27 million dollars this year. The carpet is exported; This is while flour, beans, chemical fertilizers, fuel and most importantly electricity have been imported from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan.
According to this publication, perhaps this is the reason why Uzbekistan is more interested in the Trans-Afghan project, which is a project that connects Uzbekistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan.
The authorities of all three countries signed a protocol on the plan of this project in July of last year.
This project is supposed to start from Mazar-e-Sharif and later pass through the provinces of Samangan, Baghlan, Parwan, Kabul, Logar, Paktia and Khost to be connected to the Pakistan railway through the Gholam Khan border crossing.
Currently, investigations are continuing on the technical research and financial issues of this project.
Uzbek authorities have estimated that if the work of this project is completed transportation costs for transporting commercial goods from Uzbekistan to Pakistan and from there to Uzbekistan will be reduced by 40%.
It is estimated that to implement this project to six A billion dollar budget is needed.
