Herat’s cultural heritage and tourism officials visit Mashhad

Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran Khaliqnia said (on Monday, January 25) about the visit of Herat’s high-level cultural heritage and tourism delegation to Mashhad: following the order of the President and the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts and in line with the implementation of the transformational programs of the Organization of Culture and Islamic communication based on more communication with neighboring countries and the development of cultural diplomacy and the development of relations between the two countries in the field of cultural heritage, restoration of historical works and monuments, and standardization, with the efforts of the representative of Khorasan Razavi Culture and Communication Organization, the presence of this delegation was provided in Mashhad. /p>

He added that this delegation was headed by Mohammadi, the chief director of tourism in Herat province, and Rizwani, the chief director of cultural heritage.

Khaleqnia added: The members of the Herat tourism board first met Seyyed Javad Mousavi, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Khorasan Razavi, Mohammad Ali Tusli, Director General of Pilgrims’ Welfare Affairs of Khorasan Razavi Governorate, as well as the deputies of Cultural Heritage and Tourism and a number of Activists of the tourism sector of the province met at the place of Khorasan Grand Museum. /blockquote>

Sidjavad Mousavi, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Khorasan Razavi, in this visit, presented a report on the state of historical works and monuments, tourism and handicrafts of the province and stated: In Razavi Khorasan, we have 2,200 historical works, 100 museums, about one third of the country’s museums and eight registered world works. Also, 55% of the country’s accommodation units are located in Mashhad, and Mashhad has earned the title of the world city of gemstone handicrafts.

Mousavi continued: We do not consider Herat separate from us Because it has been one of the important cities of Khorasan, for this reason, we are ready to organize joint tourism tours. The world will visit Herat in 2023

Rahmatullah Gul Mohammadi, Director General of Herat Province Tourism, also stated in this meeting: Iran and Afghanistan are religion They have something in common and have a lot in common in many things. Today, tourism is one of the most lucrative jobs in the world, and the officials should increase people’s welfare so that they can travel. He added: Tourism is one of the leading industries in the world. There are 870 historical works in Herat that we are registering and with the cooperation of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Razavi Khorasan, we can register the joint works globally.

Golmohammadi added: Tourism is booming in Herat now due to the increased security factor, and in 2023 we had many applicants for travel. Last year, a thousand tourists from 60 countries traveled to Herat. We hope that this number will increase in 2024.

At the end of this meeting, the preparation of a memorandum of understanding to carry out joint activities was put on the agenda of both institutions.
