During these negotiations, the parties focused on the issues of integration within the framework of the European Union’s “Global Gateway” strategy, especially in the field of transportation, digital communication and “water and energy” integration.
Union Europe and Tajikistan also discussed the issues of the upcoming “European Union-Central Asia” investment conference, which is scheduled to be held in Brussels on January 29-30 this year.
In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tajikistan, the two sides reviewed the current status of the bilateral cooperation agenda and exchanged views on ways to develop and expand cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union in political, economic and humanitarian fields.
During the negotiations, they also They talked about supporting border control with Afghanistan and cooperation priorities, including in the fields of sustainable development, democracy and human rights. The European Union and Tajikistan are on a positive path, and the ongoing negotiations on the Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, which will elevate relations between the two sides to a new level, is proof of this.
The announcement also states: Tajikistan is a key partner of the European Union in Central Asia, and the European Union is committed to continuing its close cooperation in priority areas such as the green and digital economy, human development and natural resource management.
The EU’s “Global Gateway” is a rival to China’s “One Belt and One Road” project, which European officials are convinced will provide developing countries with viable alternative infrastructure plans.
