According to Webangah News quoted by Tasnim News agency, the SpaceX spacecraft carrying 4 astronauts including Alper Gazarevci, a Turkish citizen, was launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Friday morning.
Alper Gazarevci will serve in space for 14 days to perform various scientific missions on the International Space Station.
The Ax-3 mission also includes mission leader Michael López-Alegría representing the US and Spain, pilot Walter Villadi of the Italian Air Force and Sweden’s Markus Vant representing the European Space Agency.
The launch, previously scheduled for January 17th US local time, has been delayed by one day by SpaceX to complete final checks.
