British defense minister’s criticism of Netanyahu
The British Defense Minister called the Israeli Prime Minister's opposition to the two-state solution disappointing. |
According to the report of Fars International News Agency, British Defense Minister Grant Shapps reacted to the recent statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the two-state solution and called it “disappointing”.
Shoppes said in an interview with Sky News that “it is disappointing that Netanyahu is rejecting the two-state solution, which he has said many times throughout his political career”.
The Prime Minister of the Israeli regime emphasized on Thursday that he is against the creation of a Palestinian state after the end of the Gaza war. The formation of any Palestinian state after the end of Israel’s war against Gaza has informed the White House. He also said that all lands west of the Jordan River should be under Israeli security control.
Netanyahu has long been a staunch opponent of the establishment of a Palestinian state, although he has at times verbally supported this idea.
Shaps further emphasized that there is no other solution other than a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the whole world agrees that this is the best solution.
In the Gaza war, he also said: Israel is responsible for respecting international laws, and this is what I told Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also Today, Sunday called opposition to the two-state solution unacceptable.
He wrote in his X channel account: Refusing to accept a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians and denying the right to form a government for the Palestinian people is unacceptable.
Guterres added: The right of the Palestinian people to build their own country should be recognized by everyone.
The White House responded to Netanyahu’s statement and said that Washington Efforts to realize this solution will continue.
John Kirby, the spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House, said to reporters on the US President’s plane after Netanyahu’s speech: “After the end of the war, there will be no occupation of Gaza.”
