Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ataf, in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, described the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in helping to establish peace and stability in the region as important and appreciated Iran’s support for the Palestinian nation.

He pointed to the upcoming meeting of OPEC gas leaders in Algeria in March of this year, and called the participation of Ayatollah Raisi, the president of Iran, in this meeting of special importance.

According to Fars report, Iran’s foreign minister had previously said in a meeting with the deputy speaker of the Algerian parliament that Iran will actively participate in the OPEC gas summit in Algeria.

The two foreign ministers emphasized the importance of developing bilateral relations in the political, economic and commercial fields and the necessity of implementing the previously concluded agreements between the two countries. The documents required in other areas of cooperation also expressed their desire.
