Netanyahu: We will fight with Hamas until we achieve complete and absolute victory
The Prime Minister of Israel claimed that the army of this regime will continue the war with Hamas until achieving "complete and absolute victory". |
according to the international group Tasnim news agency, Benjamin Netanyahu On Wednesday, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime once again claimed that Israel should continue the war until achieving a “complete and absolute” victory against Hamas.
Regarding the concerns about war plans, Netanyahu said during a special meeting with members of the Knesset: “We have defined the goals of the war, and these goals are present and tangible: to bring down the rule of Hamas and return all the hostages home.”
Criticisms of war management by Netanyahu’s cabinet have intensified in recent days. Gadi Eisenkot, a former official of the Israeli army and a member of Netanyahu’s war cabinet, criticized Netanyahu in an interview last week and described his promises for a complete victory over Hamas as “storytelling”.
Netanyahu said, referring to the killing of at least 23 people in one day in the Gaza war: “Today our best sons are buried in Israel. We will continue our determination and efforts to defeat the merciless enemy.”
The Israeli army has admitted to killing at least 23 of its soldiers in an explosion in Gaza. But some sources have estimated the number of Israeli casualties more than this. Some Hebrew sources have announced the number of casualties above 50 people.
An American newspaper reported that after more than 100 days of the war, Israel’s little progress in destroying Hamas caused Doubts among senior army commanders about the feasibility of realizing the main goals of the Gaza war, namely the destruction of Hamas and the release of Israeli prisoners.
According to this report, Israel’s progress in Gaza has become slower. It was more than expected, and this issue has led Israeli commanders to admit in private circles that the release of more than 100 Israeli prisoners will be possible only through diplomatic and not military methods.
Israeli generals have also said that in order to destroy Hamas, the Israeli army must engage in a long-term war, which will most likely result in the death of prisoners.
More than 100 Israeli prisoners were released in November under an agreement brokered by Qatar, but Hamas has said it will not release other prisoners. The New York Times writes that the rest of the prisoners are believed to be held in the underground tunnel network of Hamas. He announced in the cabinet and said that having the idea that prisoners can be freed by military operations is an “illusion”.
