Hungary also agreed to Sweden’s membership in the NATO military alliance

Sweden joining NATO on Tuesday night with the presence of most of the parties in the Turkish parliament, including the ruling party, the National Movement Party, The People’s Republic Party and the Future Party were approved.
In response to Turkey’s action, the Prime Minister of Sweden wrote on his virtual page: Today, another step was taken for Sweden to join NATO. The Turkish parliament voted positively for Sweden’s membership in NATO. Turkey and Hungary prevented Sweden from joining NATO for a year and a half. Due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, Sweden and Finland applied for NATO membership in May 2022. Finland was accepted as the 31st member of this alliance in April last year.
The Secretary General of NATO had previously assured that Sweden will also become a member of this military alliance in 2024.
