“Doshanbe” and “Tehran” emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation

According to a Fars News Agency reporter, Alireza Haghigian, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and talked with Faizullah Baratzadeh, the head of the Tajikistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group.

In this meeting, the ambassador of Iran, referring to the current process of all-round development of relations between the two countries, considered the role of parliamentary cooperation and especially parliamentary friendship groups as important in expanding and deepening relations.

Haghiqian Referring to the signing of the visa cancellation document between Iran and Tajikistan during the recent visit of the President of our country to Tajikistan, he stated: In the near future, the implementation of the visa cancellation system will be established between the two friendly countries, which share the same language and culture.

Baratzadeh also assessed the issue of canceling visas as important for increasing the development of economic, commercial and tourism relations between the citizens of the two countries and emphasized the readiness of the Tajik Parliament to create a legal platform in order to further expand cooperation.

It is worth noting that on November 8, 2023, during the official visit of the Islamic President of Iran, “Sidabrahim Raisi” to Tajikistan, 18 new cooperation documents, including the visa cancellation memorandum, were signed between the two countries.

According to this document, mutual visits of citizens of Iran and Tajikistan to each other’s countries for business purposes, tourism, transportation of goods and passengers by drivers of all types of vehicles are allowed for 30 days without obtaining visas. It is only necessary that the expiration date of the passport is at least 6 months old.
