According to the regional office of Tasnim News Agency, “Amir Khan Motaghi”, the foreign minister of the Taliban government, in a meeting with The ambassadors and diplomats of some countries in Kabul stated: We are against the appointment of a UN special representative for Afghanistan. Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban government, sent an announcement to the media and said: Amir Khan Muttaghi from the countries of the region. He asked to conduct regional consultations to increase positive interaction with Afghanistan and to continue it. According to this announcement, Motaghi said in this meeting that with the presence of the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan, there is a need for a representative. It is not new to this organization.
The foreign minister of the Taliban government has met and discussed with the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, India and Indonesia.
On the 8th of December, the UN Security Council approved a resolution on the manner and increase of interaction with Afghanistan and the leaders of the Taliban and the appointment of a special representative for Afghanistan.
