The Hague Court’s preliminary ruling on South Africa’s complaint; Confirmation of the court’s jurisdiction to hear the charge of Israeli genocide in Gaza

According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, the highest court of the United Nations this Friday in a ruling in line with South Africa’s handling of the complaint ordered Israel to immediately take necessary measures to prevent the genocide in Gaza, but did not issue an order to stop the regime’s military actions in Gaza.
The International Court of Justice announced today, in line with South Africa’s complaint against Israel, that Israel must use “all necessary measures” to prevent actions that are considered examples of genocide.
Last month, South Africa filed a complaint with the Hague-based International Court of Justice accusing Tel Aviv of committing genocide in Gaza.
The judge of the International Court of Justice said that Israel should punish anyone who commits genocide in Gaza. The International Court of Justice announced today that it is competent to deal with South Africa’s complaint against Israel regarding the genocide in Gaza.
This court also recognized the right to file a lawsuit by South Africa and declared that Israel’s request to reject this lawsuit is unacceptable.
The Hague Court also clarified that it considers the statements of the Israeli authorities to dehumanize the Palestinian people and emphasizes the right of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip to be protected from genocide.
The International Court of Justice also announced that Israel should report to this court within one month the measures it takes to prevent the genocide in Gaza. The judge of the International Court of Justice said: This sentence creates international obligations for Israel.

The Hague Court required Israel to take more measures to protect Palestinians, but did not issue an order to end military operations in Gaza.
Experts’ opinion about the initial verdict of the Hague Court
James Bays, Al Jazeera’s reporter in The Hague, says: The Hague Court’s verdict on Israel is an interesting verdict. because the judges of this court agreed with most of the arguments raised by South Africa.
They accepted that they had jurisdiction to rule on the case and that some of the claims made by South Africa constituted genocide under the provisions of the Convention on the Prohibition of Genocide.
But the part of the ruling that will make South Africa unhappy is probably the final paragraph of the ruling, which does not issue an order to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.
This court specifically asked Israel to take measures such as delivering humanitarian aid and submitting a report within a month.
In this ruling, Israel is also required to use all its powers to prevent actions that could lead to genocide.
