According to the report of the international group Tasnim news agency quoting “NTV”, the newly established party in Germany, led by Sahra Wagenknecht, met its members for the first time in Berlin and announced its party plans to participate in the European elections. Among other things, this party seeks to end arms aid to Ukraine, buy oil and gas from Russia, and advance asylum procedures at foreign borders and third countries.

Fabio Di Masi, a former left-wing politician and a member of this party, said that BSW wanted the motto “less is more” for the work of the European Union. It refers to member states: the party wants a “deadline on EU enlargement”. On this basis, accession negotiations with Ukraine, as well as Moldova and Georgia, have been explicitly rejected. The “less is more” principle is also about preventing tax dumping by large companies at EU level. He stressed that the international minimum tax should also be applied and, for example, excess profits from energy companies should be reduced. He said: “If you want to get something for the majority of people, you have to confront the powerful.” Regarding the war in Ukraine, BSW also raised this demand and said: In order to motivate Russia to start negotiations, an immediate stop of arms exports to Ukraine should be presented in this case.” The program of this party states: Peace and security in Europe cannot be sustained in a conflict with Russia’s nuclear power. and guaranteed long-term. The new European peace order must “in the long run also include Russia”.

Also when it comes to security policy, but in other areas Europe’s closeness to the United States is criticized in this party. The introduction of the program states: Europe must become an independent actor on the world stage, instead of being a pawn in the conflict between the great powers and the puppet of the United States. Otherwise, there would be “the risk of losing China, our most important trading partner”. Moreover, Europe should “no longer be a digital colony of the United States, but build its own digital infrastructure”.

BSW also wants to resume oil and gas deliveries from Russia and conclude long-term energy contracts. The party’s program states: EU economic sanctions hardly affected Russia and did not stop the war in Ukraine, but caused “enormous damage” to the European economy. With loud applause from the delegates, Wagenknecht called for an end to the war in Ukraine “as soon as possible” and through negotiations. which includes raw materials, areas of influence and arms sales. This is why we say no to war and we say no to the export of arms to war zones,” which is a central tenet of his party. According to him, his party wants to once again turn Europe into the peace project it once imagined.

The Wagenknecht party also calls for asylum procedures at the EU’s external borders and in third countries. The program says: “There should no longer be a decision to access the EU to networks “The EU must reform its refugee and migration policy accordingly. BSW warned that in France and other countries, and to a lesser extent in Germany, parallel societies have emerged under the influence of terrorist extremism in recent years.” .

The party also announced: “Many people in the EU no longer dare to speak their minds openly.
