Iran’s letter to the Security Council: We are not responsible for the actions of any individual or group in the region

According to the international group Tasnim news agency representative of the Islamic Republic Iran in the United Nations, in response to the letter dated January 26, 2024 (S/2024/101), the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations regarding America’s accusations against Iran wrote in a letter to the Security Council: The letter of the United States of America contains unjustified references And it is baseless to claim that the militia groups affiliated with the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are involved in actions against American personnel and facilities in Iraq and Syria.
This letter states is: The Islamic Republic of Iran categorically rejects such baseless claims. As previously emphasized in our correspondence, including letters dated December 4, 2023 and January 2, 2024, no group affiliated with the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, whether in Iraq, Syria or anywhere else directly or indirectly under the control of the Islamic Republic Iran or acting on its behalf does not exist.
The representative of Iran clarified: Therefore, the Islamic Republic of Iran is not responsible for the actions of any individual or group in the region.
In this letter it is also written: In addition, the actions taken by the United States in Syria and Iraq are both illegal and in violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, in particular Article 2 (4) of the charter. As a result, the content of the United States presented in the aforementioned letter to the Security Council under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter lacks legal basis and cannot legitimize such actions.
